About Our Philanthropy

Phi Mu's national philanthropy is the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The Delta Alpha chapter of Phi Mu strives each year to raise thousands of dollars for its Children's Miracle Network hospital, Riley's Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Last Year's Philanthropy

Their annual event, DePHI the MUsic, takes place during the Spring semester and invites students to sing karaoke and eat unlimited chicken wings for the cost of admission. In September, their sisters hosted the first annual "Runway Riley: Catwalk for the Kids" with the Indiana University Dance Marathon and were able to raise $11,000 in their first year alone! In recent years, Phi Mu has won multiple awards at IUDM, including the Spirit Award and the Hope Award, showing Phi Mu's passionate commitment to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Phi Mu also prides itself on its involvement in Relay For Life, an American Cancer Society event that raises money for cancer research and raises awareness in the Bloomington community. Phi Mu is not only the largest organization to participate, but they are also a top fundraiser.

The Organization

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals have grown dramatically since its founding in 1983 from a televised fundraiser in a small studio to one of the North America's leading children’s charities. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals were founded on two basic principles: to help as many children as possible by raising funds for children’s hospitals and to keep funds in the community in which they were raised to help local children.
