About Our Philanthropy

One woman can change anything. Many women can change everything. That was the belief of Sigma Delta Tau’s National Founders. Since 1917, SDT has fought for the rights of women. Their visionary leaders overcame discrimination against religious minorities by boldly creating a band new sorority. They foresaw this new fraternal organization as capable of inspiring its members into actions “worthy of the highest precepts of true womanhood, democracy and humanity.” They believe their seven founding sisters would be very proud of the dynamic partnerships supported by Sigma Delta Tau today, almost a century after crafting this important vision.

Sigma Delta Tau has been empowering families through Prevent Child Abuse America for over a quarter of a century. SDT conducts an annual service project, educational program, and a major fund-raising event to benefit the prevention of child abuse. Over $100,000 is donated annually to PCAA to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation’s children.
